Mooseheads' Peter-James Corsi named CHL Player of the Week

    Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Peter-James Corsi of the Halifax Mooseheads is the CHL Player of the Week after scoring nine goals, including three game winners, and one assist for 10 points in four games last week.

    Corsi, a 19-year-old native of Montreal, started the week with a pair of goals, including the winner midway through the third period in a 6-4 win over the Lewiston MAINEiacs on November 6. He picked up an assist in a 6-5 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs and then scored four goals, including the game-winner in a 10-2 win over the Val-d'Or Foreurs on Saturday. Corsi wrapped up the week with a hat trick, including the overtime winner in a 6-5 victory against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on Sunday.

    Corsi has 15 goals and 13 assists for 28 points in 22 games with the Mooseheads this season.

    Spencer Machacek of the Vancouver Giants was the WHL nominee for the award after scoring four goals and seven points in three games while Brampton Battalion defenceman Bobby Sanguinetti was the OHL nominee after scoring six goals and 10 points in three games.
